Why we have partnerships

As APP pursues its mission we do so from a position of experience, expertise, and energy. APP is firmly established as the vehicle to provide academic preparation and outreach to underserved and underrepresented populations, as well as sustaining and initiating formal school and community educational partnerships within the region. Our educational partnerships provide the unique opportunity to link key constituents in developing sustainable systemic change within a regional school environment. To fulfill this charge APP develops partnerships with educators, the community, secondary school students, and parents to help students set, meet, and exceed personal goals in preparing to pursue post-secondary educational opportunities.

Our ultimate goal is to foster a college going culture within our regional educational partnerships. Currently our main regional partnerships are:

BELIEVE

Luther Burbank High School administrators, teachers, counselors, and staff, in partnership with UC Davis Academic Preparation Programs, Cal SOAP, California State University Sacramento, Sacramento City College and Cosumnes River College have crafted a mission and vision to create a college going culture.

CollegeOPTIONS

CollegeOPTIONS helps students of all ages and their families in Shasta and Siskiyou counties make informed choices about post-high school education by providing advisors in the schools, confidential financial aid advising, free workshops, and up-to-date informational material.

Dixon Regional Educational Alliance and Movement (DREAM)

The Dixon Regional Educational Alliance Movement (DREAM) is a partnership between the University of California, Davis, the University of California, Office of the President (UCOP), and the Dixon Unified School District.

Grant High School (Twin Rivers Unified School District)

Innovative Minds Achieving Goals in Esparto (IMAGinE)

IMAGinE is a postsecondary preparation collaborative between the University of California Office of the President's (UCOP) College Going Initiative (CGI), UC Davis, and Esparto Unified School Districts. This collaborative is aimed at improving the college going culture in Esparto.
