Giving to the Department of Academic Preparation Programs
Many individuals, groups, and foundations have found a deep and abiding interest in supporting the mission of the Academic Preparation Programs (APP). You may be able to support APP in one or more of the following ways.
Your Time:
Nobody knows what it is like to have your student on the college path or in college, except you. Your message is powerful and can assist other families and students. Here is how you can get involved.
Be a representative on a parent panel at a workshop
Volunteer to make phone calls to other parents on behalf of APP
Support your child and your child's friends on their college path
Refer other students and parents to our staff
Tell the principal or other administrator of your son/daughter's school about the value of the APP program at his/her school

Your Money:
Our programs are funded primarily by state and federal monies. You can help keep our programs stable in tight financial times by donating for any of the following activities:
Scholarships - to support students' college success;
Large-Scale Events - full or partial support for large-scale higher education events;
Small-Scale Activities - full financial support of a small-scale APP activity;
Transportation - support APP students' visit college campuses. Many for the first time;
Endowment - support the establishment of an APP endowment.

Your Knowledge:
Be a career representative at one of our grade-specific college/career days
Be a volunteer speaker/presenter at an APP event where you share your knowledge and experience in your career area with students who are exploring career options
Be a volunteer speaker/presenter at a Family Education Forum evening session at one of our local partner K-12 schools
